Hello again sorry that I haven't been able to write anything for ages but its becoming quite hectic at the moment with lots of things to get ready for the show and paperwork to send of. For the last two weeks or so i've been spending 2 hours or more after work trying to cut my sedum matting down to the correct size and attach it to plywood by weaving wire through them both so that when it comes to fixing them to the deck frame they will stay vertical and look fantastic. Its a very labour intensive job anad takes about 2 hours to do one panel, and I have 11 panels to do in total but luckly I now only have 3 more do, one of which is a door to the hidden compartment. These all need to be done by this weekend giving them three weeks to recover and flourish for the show. I've also spent most of this week visiting suppliers and check on how things are shaping up. I spent the whole of yesterday mainly stuck in traffic jams tyring to see my trees which are coming on nicely with the rhus and all the betula's showing signs of lots of leaf growth despite them having some problems with the high wind but everything seems ok, which is great news as they are vital elemnets of the garden. I also then spent some more time in traffic jams this time travelling further north to check on my hedging being grown by Gareth at instahedge. Again he has been having trouble with the winds but he's managed to trim the hedges to the correct sizes for me and despite the beech still hanging on to its winter leaves they all have lots of growth on them and will look fantastic when they are all planted.
Today I spent a few hours with Firas who is doing another marvellous job for me with his great carpentary skills. Firas is supplying all the oak for the garden which includes the rustic oak shingles, the table and stalls, the decking and the steps for the garden and though needing a quick sand are looking really lovely and am really pleased with them. Its this about this time that i'm getting really excitied about the show as I can know see how everything, in my mind is going to look and its all starting to become reality, as this design has been in my head for nearly a year now and i'm probably the only person who really knows how this garden needs to look, so its great to see everything finally coming together. As mentioned last time I posted, if I get time this weekend i'll talk about the procedure of being awarded a medal. Thanks agin for reading. Ian
