Well with less then 95 days left till the show opens, preparations for the garden are becoming part of my daily routine, with phone calls from my suppliers, meeting with Chris & David from Bushy Business my constrcution team and sending out numerous emails but this is all of the joy of creating a show garden.
Well just to let you know what has been done so far:-
Last week I visited Deepdale trees up in Bedfordshire where I spent up to 2 hours walking around the most fantastic tree nursery I've been to. Thanks Meike from Deepdale trees who was fantastic and had alot of patience with me whilst we walked round and round the nursery until I picked what I feel are the perfect trees for the garden. So the tree have now been decided and are 5 beautiful standard grown Betula utilis 'Jacquemontii' and a magnificent Rhus typhina which has a lovely, what they call in the business, Umbrella shape to it. At least this is one less thing to worry about and one thing to tick of my list.
Yesterday I met with my carpenter, Firas Nazzal, a really friendly and approachable person and a true professional who's very passionate about his work. His company Bespoke Woodcraft are providing all the sawn oak for the garden which includes the decking, my bespoke table and stalls, bespoke floating steps, rustic oak shingles and my raised flowerbed. So with my ideas and his expert know how the main feature of the garden is all organised and being prepared as we speak.
I also met with Chris and David from Bushy Business and after much laughter and friendly banter, mainly aimed at me we finally got round to, once the sun was starting to set to get a rough idea of the quantities of the plants needed. After alot of jaw dropping by me I think we managed came to an argreeable number. The list has been sent to my supplier and am just waiting for their reply.
Another week has finished the show is slowly creeping up with us, but there's still a lot of things to organise. So till next time thanks for reading.
